There are many different diets out there which try to help people to lose their excess fat, these can be very difficult to follow as the whole reason we are over-weight is because of our love for food. Have you ever noticed just how bland and boring the foods are that these diets state we should eat? They may well be healthy but they are certainly not tasty lol. These diets have never really worked for me, mainly because I have possibly not got the right attitude but mainly because I find it hard to stick to them. A few weeks possibly however six months is out of the question.

I believe that the reason that I am over-weight is due to the fact that I had a stuttering problem which caused me to comfort eat. I know that this may well seem a little lame but it is my excuse anyway. Stuttering therapy proved pointless and useless and hence my desire to eat lots and lots of food.

In my opinion exercise is the best way to lose weight. I have never really enjoyed visiting the gym possibly due to the fact that I do not feel comfortable there. I always feel that people are looking, talking and laughing at me behind my back. Maybe I am just too paranoid.

Due to my own personal experiences and success I would certainly advise people to hire a personal trainer. Now you might think that only the rich and famous could possibly do this but you would be wrong. People can find a personal trainer by conducting a search on the internet or alternatively you can normally find one connected to a gym.

These are specially trained people who are willing to come to your house to show you how to correctly exercise and they do not cost an arm and a leg.

You may well have tried to lose weight this way before but without success - do not let this put you off however. It may well be because you just did not hit it off with your personal trainer. I have been working with my current personal trainer for around six months now; he is actually the third one that I have hired - the first two were rather rubbish.

Hiring a personal trainer was the best thing I have ever done with regards to losing weight and I would recommend it to other people. I have now lost the beer belly and still continue working hard, it is now more as a fitness thing rather than to lose even more weight. It has also enabled me to have a better focus on business which is in the DVD authoring and budget package holidays industries; I also offer an article submission service on a part time basis. The companies have been going from strength ever since I managed to improve the way in which I lived my life.

Anxiety affects people of all ages, from the teenage to the senior years. Although it can affect both sexes, it is more common in women though this may be because men are reluctant to report it to their doctors. In general, women are more open to expressing their feeling and sharing their emotions than men.

There are two types of anxiety, acute and chronic. Acute anxiety is commonly known as a "panic attack", where the body's response to an emergency is activated at an inappropriate time. Symptoms of a panic attack can include, but are not limited to, shortness of breath, claustrophobia, rapid heart beat, chest pain, dizziness, trembling, hot flashes or chills, nausea, and a sense of unreality. Over time, anxiety can have cumulative effects such as generalized aches and pains, muscle aches and twitching, sleeplessness, depression, loss of sex drive, and the inability to relax. Panic attacks are unpredictable and can occur at any time without warning and last for a few seconds up to a half hour; some people have them several times each day, while others experience them less frequently. Some people will have just one and will never have another. Many people think they are having a heart attack or stroke and some people are afraid of being alone or of being in public places for fear of having an attack. For years it was thought that there was no physical basis for anxiety but many experts feel that a malfunction in brain chemistry can cause it.

With chronic anxiety, people experience a vague sense of unease, feel as if something bad is about to happen, and tend to be jumpy and startle easily. The symptoms are not as pronounced as with acute anxiety but can still impact a person's enjoyment of life. People with chronic anxiety go through life on pins and needles, wondering when their bubble will burst. They can be negative in their outlook on life as if this will prevent the worse from happening.

Some doctors recommend calcium and magnesium, B vitamins and herbs such as catnip, chamomile, kava, and valerian to promote relaxation. Sometimes antidepressants can be effective in treating the disorder but can have side effects or promote dependency. Relaxation techniques such as meditation, massage and listening to music can also help to ease the symptoms. Exercise is a great stress reliever and can lessen the impact of anxiety on one's life.
